Last year I took part in Critical Waves, a symposium and training conference hosted by Birkbeck, and funded by the AHRC. Critical Waves was designed to encourage doctoral researchers to write and produce their own ten-minute podcast based on their research for a general public audience.
My entry, called ‘Making the Best of a Bad Job: An Introduction to Wilfred Bion’, was one of a handful that were selected to be aired on Resonance FM, and the podcast was later featured on Pod Academy.
Take a listen here. Featuring yours truly and the slightly reluctant (yet vocally gifted) Dan Smith as Bion, we take in Bion’s experiences in the First World War and slyly explain alpha function via the medium of hit podcast Serial and spoof fly-on-the-wall BBC documentary, W1A.
